It’s feeling a bit back end-ish
Aug. 9th, 2018 07:50 amI harvested a shittonne of peaches from allotment yesterday. I’ve not weighed them yet (and i’ve already given away one large bag of them), but i reckon it could well have been 10kg of the things.
So now I’m researching preserving jars and peach schnapps recipes.
It’s only august! This feels like it should be an autumn activity. But having said that, the weather seems
in agreement: there’s a distinct chill in the air, which heralds the forthcoming autumn.
It’s fine: we’ve had such a nice summer so far (for once). I just wish that more of it had translated into good vegetables on the allotment. I need to sprt my soil out: it’s doing me no favours right now.
But first: a weekend away, sailing in Scotland. And therefore, of course, a weekend of terrible weather (of course), after months of wall to wall sunshine and soaring temperatures. Instead it’ll be blowing a hoolie and pissing with rain. So says the forecast, anyway...
